A natural Dogtooth Calcite cluster from Morocco, formed from overlapping pointed calcite crystals in soft cream and pale honey tones. Warm rusty-orange mineral staining remains across several of the crystal faces, adding contrast and highlighting the distinctive scalenohedral “dogtooth” formations.

Moroccan calcite specimens are commonly cleaned after mining using a mild acid solution, which helps remove clay, excess iron oxide staining and remnants of the surrounding matrix. This process brightens the exposed crystal faces and can improve their clarity and colour, while often leaving the calcite with the slightly waxy-feeling finish seen on this specimen.
